    This 18th-century manuscript is a collection of letters, essays, and sermons by Saint Gregory Nazianzus (died circa ). The manuscript is thought to be the first Arabic translation from the original Greek and has not yet been edited or published. It is the second volume of a two-volume work. Gregory of Nazianzus, also known as Gregory the Theologian, is recognized as a Father of the Church. To St. Basil's letters can be ascribed the qualities he attributed to the heartily approved book written by Diodorus, which qualities may be summed up as fullness of thought, clearness, simplicity, and naturalness of style. He himself disapproved of a too ornate style and carefully avoided it.

      To read the actual words from the past is an altogether different experience of learning and enrichment. Here for the first time is an anthology of texts gathered almost exclusively from persinal correspondance between St Basil the Great, his close friend St Gregory 'the theologian' and his younger brother St Gregory of s: 6.
